The winners of the 2008 short film lab, created during the festival for children from 10-15 years old were from the following schools:

Árbæjarskóli, winner of the best short film made by 8th to 10th graders.

Vesturbæjarskóli, winner of the best short film made by 5th to 7th graders.

2008 TALENT CAMPUS PARTICIPANTS

Here the Talent Campus members are offered a optional space where they can put up their profiles.

ANASTASIA LOBKOVSKI

Anastasia Lobkovski (born 1981) is director and screenwriter, graduated from Tampere University School of Art and Media in 2007.
Before her film studies Lobkovski has studied Lighting Design for two years at the same University.She has also worked as a jouranlist in a music & entertainment TV-show "Pujo" and in a movie related TV-show "Leffamania" at a local tv-station during 1998 – 2000.Lobkovski`s first short film "KUB" has been participated in several film festivals in Scandinavia, Europe, New Zealand and Japan. Her graduating film "Romka-97" has been nominated by CILECT as one of the best short films made in Film Schools all over the world in 2007. At NUFF Nordic Youth Film festival 2008, dvoted has given Lobkovski an honorable mention for best directing in Romka-97. Her new short “No Exit”, just had a premiere at Reykjavik Film Festival 2008 at Golden Egg Competition. This september Lobkovski got support from Finnish Film Foundation for her first feature film screenplay and she is now working on it.

DESPINA LAD

Despina Ladi was born in Greece. She is a screenwriter and a freelance journalist. She studied Communication and Media at the University of Athens, and afterworking in some films (“Captain Corelli’s Mandolin”, “The Life of David Gale” etc.) she followed some Screenwriting Seminars in New York (NYU, The New Scool), London, and Athens. Her short film screenplay ‘A story of love’ was selected in the ‘Microfilm’ Funding Program 2008, and her feature film screenplay ‘The Deal’ in the MFI Script Workshops 2008. In August 2008 she was selected to participate in the 2nd Sarajevo Talent Campus. She also works as a freelance journalist for the Sunday Athens newspaper ‘To Vima’ and is Co-Curator of the programme in the ‘Psarokokalo’ International Short Film Festival that takes place every February in Athens.

DIOGO COSTA AMARANTE

WINNER OF THE GOLDEN EGG COMPETITION AT THE 2008 RIFF TALENT CAMPUS

Diogo Costa Amarante was born in Portugal where he graduated in Law. After being selected to participate in a workshop done within the Hola Lisboa Ibero-Americano Film Festival, he presented a short film, which was awarded with a grant to study documentary in Barcelona. The thesis film of the Master in Documentary was selected in several international film festivals and won the first price of the jury in the Documentamadrid08, Goldenbollfilmfestival and the Golden Egg competition of the Reykjavik International Film Festival Talent Campus. Presently after finishing a Post graduation in cinematography he is now editing his next documentary film “In January, perhaps”.

ESTHER JOHNSON

I am an artist, filmmaker and photographer who creates work that takes a poetic- experimental approach to documentary and narrative, through film, video, audio, photography, installations and writing. Areas are researched from everyday life to uncover resonant stories
of subjects that are otherwise hidden or ignored in contemporary culture.
Work is made for exhibition and cinema screening through individual projects, commissions and residencies. My work has been exhibited
globally in film festivals, galleries and cinemas in around 20 countries, including the London Film Festival; Raindance Film
Festival, London; IDFA, Amsterdam; MadCat Film Festival, San Francisco; NASA, USA; Science Museum, Tate Britain, Tate Modern &
ICA, London; Cornerhouse, Manchester; Site Gallery, Sheffield;FACT, Liverpool; Sotherby's, New York and the Museu de Arte Moderna, Rio de
Janeiro. Work has appeared on television, and in adapted versions for radio, and writing has featured in arts publications.
In addition to my film and photographic work I curate film programmes, and am Senior Lecturer in Film and Media at Sheffield
Hallam University, UK, and former Director and Curator of Hull Film and its Hull International Short Film Festival.

MARTIN RATTINI

Born 1975 in Bolzano, a multilingual area in northern Italy, Martin Rattini graduated 1998 at the “Kolleg für Photographie” in Vienna as a photographer.

In 2001 he took he`s degree at ZeLIG-Filmschool (Italy) as cinematographer and filmmaker.
Right after he co-founded helios, an agency for audiovisual communication based in Bolzano, Italy. Since there he`s working as filmmaker and is shooting commercials and documentaries all over the world. Most important to him are issues with social or environmental contents.

Since 2006 he teaches “Scientific Film and Documentary” at the Universtiy of Innsbruck/Austria.
In 2008 he was participating at the Berlinale Talent Campus and at EsoDoc (European Social Documentary – A Media Training Initiative).
He is member of the executive of FAS – Film Association of South Tyrol.

RASHID MAMUN

Rashid Mamun is a documentary and fiction filmmaker from Bangladesh . A graduate of New York 's Hunter College , Mr. Mamun is currently living and working in New York City . He has worked as a freelance filmmaker with a wide array of subjects including indigenous people's rights, historical events and figures, race relations and the events of 9/11. Mr. Mamun has worked in New York , Lafayette LA , India , Bangladesh and Cape Town South Africa as part of production and post-production crews on fiction features, documentaries and television shows. His work has been shown in TV channels in Bangladesh and USA and in film festivals in Dhaka , Atlanta , Cape Town , South Africa and New York . Mr. Mamun won the Best Documentary award in Bangladesh from Freelance Journalists Association in 2001, and a nation-wide student video essay contest sponsored by WNET Channel 13 (USA) for his short film "America: My Home" in 2004.

SANELA BAJRIC

Born in Croatia in 1979. After the graduation at the Applied Arts and Design School, comes to Milan to study film direction at the Film,
Television and New Media School. Her first documentary “Viaggio intorno a Miracolo a Milano” was screened at many festivals and awarded twice.
In 2003-04 attends the Location scouting and production course at the Lombrady Filmcommission and in 2007 obtains the Bachelor’s degree in
Film studies with a thesis about the technological evolution in filmmaking. Works mostly as production assistant, assistant director
and camera operator, but has experience also as casting director, storyboard artist and dubbing director. At present works at a documentary
about the life at the border between Italy and Yugoslavia during the Cold War.
